Recipe was inspired by Gary; the best neighbor in the world and a dear friend.

  • 1 box (16oz) Angel Food Cake mix
  • 1 can (15oz) sweet potato puree
  • 1 cup milk (I used low-fat)
  • 1 Chai tea bag
  • 1 tsp Chinese 5 Spice

 

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Line 9×13 pan with parchment paper.  Heat milk until almost boiling.  Steep tea bag in milk for at least 5 minutes and remove.  In large bowl add sweet potato puree, Chinese 5 spice, and milk and stir until combined.  Add Angel Food Cake mix and stir until just incorporated.  Do not overmix.  Pour into pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.  Cool completely before slicing.
