The OCD in me really wanted to post this yesterday (Sunday). But instead I went to Dim Sum for brunch, followed by a party in the hood where I dined on the most succulent fried fish tacos prepared al fresco under a perfect balmy San Diego night. That was only foreplay to the Mexican chocolate gelato that took me to a place I can’t quite articulate. And then the Funday really began when I got to experience a live acid jazz jam session until five in the morning. I rarely say the words “Sundae Funday”, but when I do, there’s no kidding.
You’re never too old or too young to get down, get dirty and have some fun. Knowing how to shake that caboose is probably more important than knowing how to type. And having a RECIPE this easy around is key when you’re out until five eh em!
You’re probably wondering how I got these 3 crumbsnatchers to behave for the camera? I think they remembered this cake I made for them a year ago. Sweetest thanks to Malashock Dance Company for letting us enjoy a Sundae in the grooviest dance studio around. And when daddy-oh Jaret Malloy snaps the pics? That’s the cherry on top to any Sundae Funday.

Sort of a faux ice cream, I gotcha. Really neat idea. The kids are adorable too.
James- Thanks for stopping by! I promise you it doesn’t taste faux!
I LOVE how serious they are about their desserts. Their looks on concentration are priceless. I am the same way.
Laura- Their little serious looks was soooo cracking me up. Thanks for stopping by and hope you’ve had a great summer!!
I can vouch that the ice cream is amazing! …that was a super fun day; thanks for letting us be part of your fabulous talent!
Amy- Thank YOU!! It was an absolute blast. I’m sooo enjoying seeing them all grow up!
All those pictures are just adorable! Also, I looked at your links and that cake is so stunning with all those colors. No doubt you had a wonderful weekend!
Tina- Thank you and thank you some more!!!! I had an ahhhmazing weekend. Hope your summer was nothing short of swell.
Someone else mentioned this, and it’s hard to believe that delicious ice cream is just bananas and cocoa. Amazing. And look at those baby ballerinas. Too cute!
Duo Dishes- When I first saw the recipe for just the banana ice cream, I didn’t try it for the longest time, as I was sure it wouldn’t taste like ice cream, but I was proven wrong. Thanks to ya both for stopping by!!
Precious!
You have some serious dancers there.
But my question is, did they strut their stuff before or after the sweets?
Hey Susan- Thanks! We let them just be free in the studio without any structure definitely before chocolate ice cream. I didn’t want to mop the floors!!
My favorite models yet! So cute and fun!
Katie- They’re my favorite models too!!!
Holy cow – this is an AWESOME post – LOVE IT!!!!
TMac- Thank you!!
Thanks, Jenny, for letting us partake! Nate will do almost anything for food, but this ice cream was an extra special treat!! Healthy and delicious.
Terri- Thank YOU!! I think when Nate said, “More”, I think my heart was melting quicker than the ice cream. I’m soo enjoying watching them grow up!!
Awwwww the kids are too too cute! Acid Jazz! Now you’re really speaking my musical language. I love me some acid jazz-:)

Coco – Me toooooo! And let me know what you think of the recipe. I hope you love it!! Thanks so much for all your support.

OMG, those little buggers are ADORABLE! I keep hearing about banana “ice cream,” but I have yet to try it. My bambino would love the combination, though!
Rachel- Thank YOU!! The little ones truly loved it if you couldn’t tell from the mess they made. Make it and let me know what your little crumbsnatcher thinks.

yum yum ice cream and adorable dancers what a wonderful combination. keep the good times coming.
Michele, Thank you soooooo much!!
Another two-ingredient winner and what adorable ballet rats. Ha, I see you let them close BEFORE they got to dig into the banana delicacy.
Jaret has got some talent going there with his good eye for camera angles and picture composition.
Suzanne- Thanks sooo much for stopping by. Yes, Jaret is a mad-fabulous photographer. His photos blow me away. I’m hoping he’ll wanna photograph some more of my shenanigans in the future!!
What a fantastic photo shoot, such beautiful children at such a carefree age! And I for one have complete faith in the recipe. You know I’ll try it!
Trish- Thank you soo soo much! I feel blessed to have a group of friends with mad-crazy photography skills. I sure hope you like the ice cream. I promise you, it tastes like there’s more than just bananas in the mix. The freezing does something magical.
Nummy !!! …such darling babies!!! Are anty of these cuties yours?
You are so pretty too!
Jungle Dream Pagoda- Thank you, thank you, thank you, and more thank you(s). I am actually dear friends with each of the babies parents. All of their parents were first friends, then delivered within weeks apart, so now the little ones have a built in play group. That’s part of the reason why I chose the three of them in lieu of 3 random babies, because of the chemistry. Thank you again for stopping by and your kind words.
Not sure how you do it, but you always do it and you do it so GOOD! Thanks for another great recipe and cute story. When do we get to see you in a tutu?
Gary – Thank you a million. And regarding the tutu’s, well they all would be a little snug at this point.
I love eating soft serve banana — must try with cocoa next time.
Those little dancers are SO adorable. Oh my gosh — such beautiful photographs of them and their cute little expressions and poses!
Melissa- Thank you sooo much! I swear you’ll think you’re eating loads of calories with the chocolate added!! Thanks for stopping by and your sweet, sweet words.
Oh, my, that was quite the Funday. I know the feeling, but staying up until 5 eh em? My caboose isn’t just dragging by that time. It’s kaput! Gorgeous photography, love the setting for that choco decadence in a bowl. Worked with some of the Malashock Dance peeps years ago when I was the teaching type. It was a wonderful experience…
Kellypea – You crack me up! You’re all kinds of hilarious. Thanks sooo much for stopping by!! xo
“Crumbsnatchers.” Oh, how I love that title. Totally going to steal it.
Miss Sara – Thank YOU!! That is one of my absolute fave expressions!!!

Gosh, you fooled me…thought this went through the ice cream maker and had tons of ingredients! These cute-as-pie kids are the best models of good behaviour, or maybe they seem like that because they’re not mine? LOL. Gorgeous photoshoot, and of course, I love those rockin’ pink sunglasses too!
