Somedays my cakes don’t turn out and I have to be a hypocrite and buy one at a place I vowed never to shop. Somedays I have to borrow my friend’s boyfriend to be my faux boyfriend because I’m too shy to ask the boy I really like. Somedays I wear a winter coat when it’s officially spring. Somedays I can’t go out to dinner with my posse after a photo shoot because I forgot that I wore nothing but my skivvies under my coat. Somedays, no MANY days, I’m too lazy to paint my finger nails. Somedays I go to work with my hair wet (please don’t tell Neil). Somedays I’m definitely less than perfect. Oh, and happy April Fool’s Day! I’m allowed one day to fudge on a recipe? right??
Wearing just 2 things; coat by the always perfect darling at Frecklewonder and Winter Kitty.
Biggest thanks to Phil Defalco for always taking the perfect shot, regardless of how I show up.

I love these shots – so playful! And the cake looks absolutely delish! Happy April 1st
I can’t find the recipe??? Where is it?
That man is very good looking, but I was ready to see some tall DARK and CHOCOLATE!!! This was tall and VANILLA! Girl, don’t be afraid of the darkness… hahaha
Mitzi- you are sooo funny, yet sooo right!!

Delicious, both the cake and the guy
Victoria- Thanks and I’ll make sure my faux boyfriend gets all the compliments.
Can this site get any more sensual? I do not know what I crave more right now, chocolate or XY? Keep on teasing me, whether today or any other day! Good one.
Ahhh! Suzanne.. Music to my ears… XOXO
I’m with Mitzi – I was expecting something a lot darker than the Vaniila Ice you’re all tangled up in here. But you always look great girlie! Thanks for the great entertainment!

Does this mean you have your wings now?
Antony- Thanks for stopping by. Regarding any potential *wings*? Well, let’s just say I’m having too much fun to qualify for any type of wings
I love those little German berry guys you decorated with, they’re my favorite candy so I will allow you to fudge a little bit!!!
Oh, oh, oh . . . chocolate!
Orgasmic, but. . . . the big question is – what is underneath your coat on this warm, spring, April Fools day Jennie?
Caitlin- I’m feeling ya on the candies. I put those on everything.
Susan- Thanks sooo much for stopping by! We all need some April fool’s humor right?
You’re just Hot Stuff with yummy to boot!!

What a great April Fool’s prank you pulled here, Jen! We almost believed you…haha. And uh, ‘Big Perm’ Phil? Surely that’s a misnomer there!
Great photoshoot, as always…. I feel the joy!
Christina- Thanks honey! Now you behave yourself on your South East Asia adventure and your auntie will whip up something sinful and chocolate for you when you come visit this summer. XOXO
Maya Maya Maya- Thanks for stopping by! So glad you enjoyed the post. I’ll have to add my friend’s Big Perm story to the list of stories we’ll exchange when we meet up in Dec. XOXO
I’m guessing the Swedish berries are your own touch…but I love the tights and those boots the most!
Trish- Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I tried to jazz up the cake the best of my abilities. Thanks for the sweet words about my accessories. Other than the coat, that’s all I seemed to be able to muster up that day! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! XOXO
Wow – that’s one great friend you have there, lending you that hunk-a-uniform! As for fudging, I’m guessing we all do it. My son’s 5th birthday was this week and I had mentally bookmarked a soccer cake on the shelf of our local grocery store. Just in case I wasn’t up to making the soccer cupcake (totally insane) idea I had in my head. Turns out I did it – blog post will be up soon. But the truth is the kids would have been just as happy with store-bought.
Ruby Ruby- Thanks a bunch for dropping by and more importantly thank you for sharing your ‘fudge’ story and giving me a genuine chuckle!! I look forward to your next post!! XOXO
Thanks so much for your nice comment on my blog! I’m glad to have found you!!! What a fabulous cake! I’ll be back

You almost fooled me. The Tall and dark, the things you’re not wearing… The cake looks delicious. Your photos always look very playful. Love the boots, the cake and the tall and dark . You look amazing as always. What is it with men in uniform?????????? hum!!!!!!!!!!

Muchas Gracias Alexi!!
aww you are so sweet! and these photos are to die for, dear!
love, polly
Jenny, maybe you should be aiming for “tall, dark, and rich” – in cakes and men alike. BTW, the Mary Jane post was too funny (the shoes being the antithesis of the goody-goody shoes…. Thanks, Dan
Polly- Thanks for stopping by! You are too precious.
Dan- GREAT to see you around. And thanks for the grand advice! You couldn’t be more correct!!
You certainly got me! I was drooling! And the cake looked yummy too
!
Just made the carrot cake for a friend’s birthday- delightful.. but I have to tell you the buttercream icing really is the best I’ve ever tasted! Must be the browned butter- bits and all!
Once again, literary, eye candy, and sweet treats… well done JJ!
Sonya- What the heck would I do without you? Thank you for your sweet, sweet words and I’m beyond thrilled you liked the buttercream frosting! I think that frosting is part of the reason my closes keep getting tight. Much love to ya darling. Muuuuah!
Luvs it as usual Jenny! Keep it up.
BTW, you have amazing teeth!
Carm
XO
Broadway. Runway…… Martha Stewart……..you make me smile. That is one gorgeous looking cake!
Carmen- Thank you soo much for stopping by and all your continued support! And you made my day about my teeth. I always worry they look like candy corn since I refuse to get them whitened !! Ha.

I had so much fun reading your blog. You’re so funny.
These shots are so beautiful and the cake looks sinfully delicious.
Thank you sooo much! I sure try to bring a chuckle and thrilled when it works. And big thanks for stopping by! XOXO
Another fabulous post! I hope your faux BF reciprocated and fed you some of that yummy cake.
Thanks soo much Karen! I think I was feeding my face with cake before the faux BF had a chance to do anything..
Oh que delicioso! This cake can fly me to the sky!
El Fuego- RICO SUAVE !!
You make my world go ’round! Your pilot “friend” looks mighty happy to have the loving affections of THE one and ONLY VINTAGE SUGARCUBE!!! I love your suga, suga! Xxx

Jenny, you freaking crack me up! Don’t ever stop being you. Please, don’t ever stop! The cake looks pretty damn perfect to me! And… I ALWAYS leave with my hair wet! YIKES
Oh boy does this cake look delicious!! And so does that man!
Tiffany- Thank you for making my day! I’m not kidding. And I’m thrilled to know I’m not the only one that sneaks out of the house with wet hair. Big smooches and hugs honey!!
Heather- Thanks darling. I think my faux boyfriend must be feeling pretty good by now with all this attention.
Everyone can fudge up a recipe from time to time. I often go out with my hair still wet, and forget to paint my nails. Our daily imperfections are what make us so special
Oh, and yeah, a faux boyfriend can sometimes be better than none at all. That’s where my gay boyfriends sometimes come in, haha.
Victoria- Thank you soo much for stopping by VintageSugarcube. Girllll… I’m glad I’m not the only one. XOXO
AMAZING cake! I could easily eat a whole 10 slices. Or the whole cake altogether! Then console myself afterward by saying there were berries on top which makes it kinda healthy. Kinda.
And yes, imperfections are what life is about isn’t it. I do the whole wearing a winter coat in spring a lot. And a whole lot of other things I probably shouldn’t divulge on the Internet
haha. Thanks for dropping by my blog!
Sharon- You made my day! XOXO
first time on your blog!
i love it.
this cake looks fantastic and your pictures are adorable
Katie, Thank you sooo much for stopping by my blog and thank you for your sweet kindness. You are one fabulous young lady!! Love YOUR blog. XOXO
Those shots are beautiful. Very talented photographer but of course, fun and gorgeous subjects help make the photo as perfect as it is.
Bet it was most fun eating that delicious cake!
You devil you….
I always enjoy your posts.

Briarrose- Thank you soo much for stopping by and your absolute sweetness!
If you want short dark and handsome in a flight suit, you can borrow HP.
MMMMM!!! Don’t tempt me as I’ve officially declared April as “Pose with my Friend’s Hot Boyfriends Month”. XOXO
Oh mah gawsh, I love this!! This photo shoot–with the man in uniform and chocolatey chocolate cake–is the perfect combination of sweet and sassy. Not to mention the fab beehive hair. Toooo awesome.

Chelsea- Thank YOU soo much for stopping by! I just discovered the brand “For Strange Women”, I ordered a sampler and it is ahhhmazing. Winter Kitty is just one of my many favorite scents.

Thanks June! I’m thrilled you got the joke! Everyone kept asking me, “Where’s the Recipe”. HaHa!!!
