There are two questions I’m constantly asked; Can I have the recipe to your Red Velvet cupcakes? and Where did you get that hair? These cupcakes and hair are really why I started the website. I’ve been asked for this recipe every time I bake a batch and I giggle to myself, because everyone expects them to be complicated. You will flip at how easy, yet sinful they taste.
My Red Velvet hair is another story. What I will tell you is that I go to Disconnected Salon, and it just keeps getting bigger and more fab-u-lous! Maybe it’s karma? I do bake for them every chance I get. I’m beyond smitten with everyone there. They are crazy-wicked-sexy-beautiful-talented.
If you’re in San Diego on Thurs, 09 Dec, please stop by for a very special benefit for the owner’s adorable dog (Save Sammy Bones). There will be plenty of Red Velvets for everyone.
Big, big thanks to my friend Mary (MC Photography) for taking these pics!

Hi, Jenny. Fun post, as usual, though I forgot to comment on the last one (you’re the only to interpret “whoopie pies” as if it were a punch line from a defunct 1970s game show, such as “Match Game” – but you’re too young to have suffered through those…).
Thanks,
Dan

You, my dear, are a baking rock star!!! My mother-in-law used to tell me when knitting think and talk about the person the item is for. That way when they use it, they will feel your love. I definitely feel the love when I eat the very special RV cup cakes you made for me. Thank you so much! You are the best!
