I honestly don’t believe the expression that something is too good to be true, and this fudge is a prime example.  Am I an idealistic, dreaming, fantasy-filled, modern day Jane Austen at times?  Yes… but who else will give you peanut butter fudge so rich and creamy and thigh trembling with only 2 ingredients?  And when you can hustle in the kitchen, you have time for hoops of holiday shenanigans!

I will see you back in 2011 with a heck of a lot more excitement to come.  Thank you to everyone for all your support during my first 6-months of blabbing about desserts. It’s been 2 Good 2B true.  Exx Ohh, Ex Oh!

Holla to Phil Defalco Photography – I’m one lucky gal.

Recipe from my childhood friend – Brenda Roach Thompson

  • 1 tub (1 lb) Vanilla Frosting
  • 1 jar (16.30z) Creamy Peanut Butter

Lightly grease a 9′x9′ or 8′x8′ pan with butter and set aside.  Microwave Vanilla Frosting and Peanut Butter individually for 1 minute.  Combine in large bowl and stir until smooth.  Spoon into pan and refrigerate until firm.

P.S.  I will bet you all the shoes in my closet that NO ONE will guess you didn’t kill yourself in the kitchen over this fudge.  Ta!

These are the Red Velvet Version of Dirty Deeelicious.  The only difference is that these contain the addition of dried Buttermilk powder.
  • I box of Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • 4 Tbsp of dried Buttermilk Powder
  • 1 1/4 cup of Coca Cola (not diet)
  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 eggs (room temp, sit them in a bowl of warm H2O for 10 min)

In large mixer, combine all and mix on medium speed until well combined.  Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.  Makes 24 cupcakes.  Cool completely before frosting.

Marshmallow Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick butter (room temp)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 7 oz jar Marshmallow Creme

Bring butter and cream cheese to room temperature.  In a medium bowl with mixer at low speed, beat butter, cream cheese, vanilla and salt until well combined.  Beat in Marshmallow Fluff, then add confections sugar until smooth.

There are two questions I’m constantly asked; Can I have the recipe to your Red Velvet cupcakes? and Where did you get that hair?  These cupcakes and hair are really why I started the website.  I’ve been asked for this recipe every time I bake a batch and I giggle to myself, because everyone expects them to be complicated. You will flip at how easy, yet sinful they taste.

My Red Velvet hair is another story.  What I will tell you is that I go to Disconnected Salon, and it just keeps getting bigger and more fab-u-lous!  Maybe it’s karma?  I do bake for them every chance I get.  I’m beyond smitten with everyone there.  They are crazy-wicked-sexy-beautiful-talented.

If you’re in San Diego on Thurs, 09 Dec, please stop by for a very special benefit for the owner’s adorable dog (Save Sammy Bones).  There will be plenty of Red Velvets for everyone.

Big, big thanks to my friend Mary (MC Photography) for taking these pics!
