Halloween is creeping up and I couldn’t be more excited. If I ruled the world, Halloween, along with Thanksgiving and St. Patty’s Day would be twice a year. XMas and New Years would be every other year, and we could just eliminate Valentine’s Day all together. What do you think? I’d love to know. I’ll be heading to San Franny with Ms. Cherry in tow to ring in Halloween in style, so see you back at VintageSugarcube in a couple weeks (06 Nov 2010) for more shenanigans and deelicious sweet treats. And ladies, when picking out those Halloween costumes, just keep one thing in mind, your biggest asset is a man’s imagination.
Big thanks to Phil Defalco Photography for having a zest for excitement, as we weren’t suppose to be photographing at only the coolest spot in San Diego.
Where did I score that blouse and killer scarf? United Cerebral Palsy Thrift Store in City Heights.
Recipe here. You’ve gotta try my latest late night creation, it’s super easy and super dirty deelicious.

LOVE IT……. YOU SEXY THING!!!! I can’t wait to make this for Thanksgiving. What shenanigans are we getting into in San Franny?
Wicked shots and the recipe looks very tasty! Have a great Halloween!
Good heavens! That man has his eyes fixed on your … cheesecake.
Thanks for the love you all! I’m always a happier camper after this cheesecake. XOXO
Love that you broke the rules a little, both with the photoshoot attempt and that devilishly delish cherry pistachio cheesecake! I also dig your costume and the fiery red hair… and the genius name CHERRY, on Virgin Atlantic – you crack me up big time, woman!
Who’s the pilot? I AM the pilot (well at least next wknd is San Fran). Can’t wait! !!
great little photo story !
This was a really cute idea! Love the red boots and of course the yummy cheesecake! Well done!
How do you do it? As a long time baker, I love your recipes, Jenny! I really love your “no-bake” desserts. So simple, yet so delicious and elegant. And you come up with these amazing recipes again and again.
Love the photos. Love Halloween. Love the cheesecake. You know how to get into my heart.
Gary, coming from the food star that you are, I am honored!! XOXO
I love the holiday suggestion…although I actually don’t like Halloween. But I could do Thanksgiving 4x/year happily. Why isn’t pumpkin pie a year round treat? (Hey, maybe you could do a spiffy pumpkin treat Vintage Sugarcube style?)
Amy! Thank you sooo much for dig’n the post girl. And yes, I have something very special in mind that includes pumpkin and a hit of sizzle.
Lovin the double entendre, as always! Cool cherry hotness, and the cheesecake looks delish too!
Miss our Halloween shenanigans in Columbus!
Loving the whole feel of this photo shoot! Very vintage and very cheeky.
We just need more holidays, period. Preferably those involving presents, candy, and no school or work.
The pistachio sealed the deal for me, and the fluffyness of the cheescake is awesome too. How do we join the sugarcube mile-high dessert club?
OMG, can I fly on your airplane???? Lovvv it! Cheesecake is my FAV!!! Yummm! <3
Love cheesecake – gotta make this one soon. Great venue! And you look as fab as ever!
Very sassy shoot and very easy and fabulous recipe!
The sugarcube mile-high dessert club?? Well that’s extremely top secret information!
Love the cheesecake, love the beef cake too! You rock Vintage Sugarcube : )
Thanks Colleen! Only the hottest pilots for this cheesecake.
Another winner. Love seeing the pics of the delicious desserts and of my beloved San Diego.
Thanks sooo much Chet! Being on top of our secret location, was the biggest rush! I’ve now discovered my favorite San Diego hidden gem.
Wonderful dear Sugarcube! I’m always enchanted when I visit your blog.
XOXO
Looks like a fun photo shoot!
Love the colors and styling!
Melissa! Thank you soo very much! That is my favorite part of the process. I really appreciate your kind words and stopping by to say, ‘Hey’!
Love the outfit!!!! I love seeing what you come up with next….that would be a pretty sweet halloween costume. This seems like a pretty easy dessert to make, definitely will have to try it out

Vintage, got a new do’ and looks like the lil’ lady prefers her alias “Cherry” when flying the friendly skies. I heart Vintage Sugarcube and LOVE seeing her latest acts of debauchery and snackery!

Three delectable things. Four including you. Have fun in San Fran
Jenny, only you can pull off going places where only Homeland/airport secuirty can go. Must be the power of dessert and Jenny.
Looks delicious!
Your creativity blows me away! That looks so yummy!!!
PS – how’d you keep that pilot from cracking up
Thanks lovies. And Karen- it was hard to get pics of my sexy pilot friend not cracking up. Phil (photographer), really had a lot to sort through. Thank you and everyone for checking out the post this week. I’m sooo appreciative.
Ahhhhhh – - voon da bar!!!! Or you’ve raised the bar, or let’s go to the bar, or or or…..Love it girlfriend. Smashing! Love Geralyn
Thanks G$!… I definitely ‘raised’ my list of going places, I should be going. HAHA!!
if only cheesecake were served by good-looking peeps on airplanes these days…it would make my job a whole lot more fun! happy hallowe’en jenny, hope you get lots of treats rather than always having to provide them! xo
I LOVE YOU Monthego! That’s the best compliment. Heck yeah with the treats. Is anyone listening?? I like treats too!
It’s all Warrant’s fault! Every single time I see cherries I think of that damned video…
Anyway, cherries are my favoritest fruit (for true). And, cherry pie is my favorite pie, so I think it’s safe to say that my favorite cheesecake flavor would be cherry too. Badass photos as usual. You’re a creative little dynamo aren’t you?
O Vintage Sugercube- The site of the photoshoot looks fabulous. You must stretch the rules again for another delicious experience! Great job as always. You look beautiful and the sweets look SWEET!
As always.. delish! Me and my girlfriend in college used to call Valentines Day “Black (fill in day of the week that year)” We would wear black and make ourselves a nice dinner. Even with boyfriends, its still a stupid holiday. SO if you want to start a petition to the prez about your proposal of holidays I would totally sign it
this recipe caught my eye and i’m so glad because your pictures are AWESOME and the cheesecake does look wonderful too. ohhh yum!!! and i agree with all of your holiday change ups EXCEPT i love christmas. it can be christmas all the time
Jessie- thank you sooo much for stopping by! I love to discover new food blogs and those pumpkin pie cupcakes you’re rock’n look ahhh-mazing. And thank you times a million for the kind, kind words. I”m just lucky I have a dear friend that takes amazing photography and hasn’t gotten tired of my shenanigans yet. I love your passion for XMas.. I’m gonna try to have a little bit of that good energy rub off on me this year. Thank you again!
Evan- Thanks for backing me up on the Valentine Day ridiculousness! I prefer dinner in on Valentine’s day with someone sweet too! And big, big thanks to ya for checking out my posts. I’m beyond appreciative.
Matt Kay- You’re da bomb! You need a trip to Southern Cali for some spicy hot inspiration.
Once again you look stunning. You always cease to amaze me with your creativity with the photos & the desserts. I love this one…but did you say “shelled” pistachios. I’m assuming this is the spot you were talking about regarding the runway & planes. It is quite spectacular, plus you sure do know how to work it! Good job. Keep on, keeping on! Looking forward to the next shenanigan!
Steph – I can’t thank you enough. The creative process is my absolute favorite part of the shenanigans. Well, having a cute pilot slithering is a bonus too! Anyway, regarding the pistachios, yes, shell them until you have 1 cup of them, then hammer the hell out of them.
I enjoy your posts and your style. I might want to eliminate some of the craziness of gift giving on on XMAS and VDAY but not the actual day. I wish I can be as creative with Halloween costumes as you. You look cherry cherry hot! Love the recipe as well.
Adelina – first of all, thank you sooo very much for checking out my posts and for your kind, kind words! I hear you on the craziness of the gift giving. I think everyone should just bake cookies and have one ginormous cookie exchange. How does that sound?
I love how vibrantly your hair matches the cherries on the cake. Glorious.
Joanne- Thank you sooo very much for stopping by! I wish I could wear that hair everyday! Happy Halloween! XO
LOVE IT!! Have a great Halloween; see you when you get back.
Antony! Thank you sooo much. I’ll try to not get into too much trouble (wink/wink!)…
You keep out-doing yourself!! I look forward to each post to see what you have come up with next, so creative. Enjoy San Fran!
Thanks Jim! That’s the best compliment!!
Hi,
I’m glad that you like my pizza. If you decide to visit Romania, please let me know. I will be happy to give you some advices and tips.
Have a nice day,
C.
You are such a fun girl! Happy Halloween!!!
Great idea for Halloween! The cheescake looks yummy!!!!
I can’t wait for the next entry! Great job!
Hilarious! Love the hunky pilot. Depsite my status as a white-knuckled flyer, I would gladly jump on the plane if that cheesecake was being served!
Coco – You can fly with us anyday!! Pilot included… Big smooches to ya girl!! XOXO
The photos are awesome! The creativity that you come up with for these recipes is impressive. Very vintage indeed!
Thank you sooo much Ms June! I tried to make it vintagey!! I love how the 50s left a lot for a man’s imagination.
I’m back at your website again! i must say that you are abound with endless creativity! Love it!
Miss Hannah! Oh My Goodness! Thank you a million for stopping back by VintageSugarcube and for your sweet words. I sure try. XOXO
Now I remember why my dream job as a teenager was to become a flight attendant. And..with this winning cherry pie recipe you could easily seduce Kyle MacLachlan of Twin Peaks fame….
Suzanne- I like the way you think! Kyle are you listening?
